Dan’s Collection of Cray systems in Watford, UK

/ Cray YMP Model E, Cray T3D, Cray T90 / By

Dan Goldsmith has collected these Cray Research systems and kindly shared the photos in Facebook Cray Supercomputer Fans Group.

  • Cray T932, 32 processor, gold livery with both HEUs (belonged to UK GCHQ)
  • Cray T3D in tomato Red livery, 512 CPU with HEU (SN:6001, the very first T3D, Aka Typhoon), originally Cray factory dev system, then shipped to EPCC centre Edinburgh university campus.
  • Cray YMP 4E, the front end for T3D. 

All now kept at ARMARI LTD, 5 Woodshots Meadow, Croxley Park. Watford WD18 8YS, UK.
These systems are currently in my private collection,  but can be viewed on request by a small number of visitors occasionally.
